KOLL – a digital tool that everyone can use.

It is important to have a flexible system when 2600 employees are to be involved. KOLL can easily be adapted for different units, which can also tailor their goals to everyone’s needs.

KOLL is Comaea’s brand for the registration of teacher certifications, a way to keep track of which teachers are available and their knowledge and skills. Prior to the teacher certification requirement that came into force in 2015, there was a need to map preschool teachers and teachers’ qualifications and competences. Initially, the degree certificates were scanned into KOLL, but this time-consuming process could be simplified and automated by KOLL retrieving information and credentials and authorisations from the Swedish National Agency for Education.

It’s fantastic with the automatic scanning of current IDs, which gives us quality-assured data. We can quickly and easily see the teachers’ credentials and qualifications in all municipal schools and preschools, but also on a specific unit. KOLL also has a wide range of different reporting functions, says Marta Espinoza, who currently works with strategic skills supply in the role of Project Strategist.

In addition to the teachers’ credentials, each employee can easily update their skills, development plans and goals in KOLL, something that follows the employee if they change jobs within Nacka’s municipal schools and kindergartens.

The next step was the “Performance appraisals” application. Nacka’s municipal schools and preschools realized that these were taking place according to different strategies and wanted to ensure a common basic structure for all employees in KOLL. Performance appraisals take place in many different ways, short and long, on a walk or in meeting rooms, absolutely at least once a year, for some employees as often as every six weeks. However, all appraisals are documented and followed up in the same way in Comaea’s template for performance appraisals.

In addition to tailor-made goal templates, we have developed various goal profiles that contain self-assessments against both professional competencies and employee policy, which are an important basis for performance appraisals.

And the next step will be to review how we can build our own competence profiles in KOLL for our childminders as well, which we are currently investing extra in in a project for skills supply.

The great thing about KOLL is that I can so often include the system in our work with skills supply, thanks to the fact that it is so flexible. Comaea also has a personal, fast and professional support where I can often bounce thoughts and ideas and that is incredibly valuable.
